Every one of us loves to sleep and get a well deserved rest for ourselves. The recent launch of iPad has made us fall in love with the magical gadget fron Apple as well. It turns out that these two can't be loved at the same time. In simplistic terms, don't use iPad when you are getting ready to sleep or you risk the chance of getting a reduced sleep time.

The reason behind the iPad affecting sleeping hours is that the HD quality touch screen which by the way is extremely pleasant to the eye emits light taking your sleep with it. The scientific reasoning goes as follow:

Direct exposure to such abnormal light sources inhibits the body's secretion of melatonin,

Staring at the screen before bed could leave you lying awake. That's because direct exposure to such abnormal light sources inhibits the body's secretion of melatonin.

Melatonin are signals that are sent out to brain in darkness to get the body prepared for sleep and sweet dreams time. So what lesson do we learn out of this - If you need to stay awake for the night, use iPad and it will make sure you don't sleep.
