Yamaha will launch the new VSP-1 Voice Masking System in Japan. It is actually a small speaker-like device that will mask your conversation in public areas. Sound masking is the addition of natural or artificial sound into an environment to cover-up unwanted sound by using auditory masking. This is in contrast to the technique of active noise control. The Yamaha VSP-1 is available in 8 different sounds to cover your conversation. What’s more, the gadget can be also arranged in different configuration and either mounted alone or in-group. Yamaha will release the VSP-1 Voice Masking System in April 2011 for 105,000 Yen ($1,276). [Yamaha]
