Apple stared pre-oders of their much hyped device, iPad, two days back. And according to rumors, they were able to sell around 90k iPads in first 6 hours. But many people missed the interesting fact about the iPad i.e.the iPad battery replacement service. If the battery of your iPad suddenly dies, Apple will replace the iPad just for $99 plus the shipping cost rather than its depleted battery.

Apple said,

If your iPad requires service due to the battery’s diminished ability to hold an electrical charge, Apple will replace your iPad for a service fee.

Looks like Apple has too much faith in their new tablet. This kind of service was offered for iPhone and iPod touch as well but at that time, they were replacing batteries. And now they are going to replace the whole device rather than changing the dead battery.

Apple said that it will take atleast one week time for them to replace the device. Users can arrange the service via Apple Retail Stores, Apple authorized Service Providers or by contacting Apple Technical Support.

Note: Before sending it to the Battery Replacement Service, you should backup you data by sync your iPad with iTunes. [via AppleInsider]
