Sanyo has rolled out a new lightweight projector in the US market. Known as the PLC-XU4000, this projector weights at just seven pounds. The Sanyo PLC-XU4000 provides an 1024×768 pixels (XGA) resolution, a 4000 Lumens brightness level and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. Sanyo claims that the power consumption can be reduced by up to 69 percent compared to similar projectors from competitors. The projector also supports a microphone input for presenters with playback over a built-in speaker that is driven by a 10-watt amplifier, while network control is available through an RJ45 LAN connection and Sanyo’s PJ-Network software. The Sanyo PLC-XU4000 projector will be available in January 2011 for $1,545.99. [Softpedia]
